Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkeringa (1861–1942) was a Dutch painter and a prominent member of the second generation of the Hague School. Best known for his atmospheric beach scenes, he frequently portrayed children at play, fishermen, and women along the coast of Scheveningen. His gentle palette, refined brushwork, and sensitive observation of everyday life earned him a reputation as a painter of carefree and idyllic moments.
