Eugène Boudin (1824–1898) was a French landscape painter and one of the pioneers of Impressionism. Renowned for his luminous coastal scenes, harbour views, and cloud-filled skies, he developed a distinctive style characterised by loose brushwork and a remarkable sensitivity to natural light. A major influence on Claude Monet and other Impressionist painters, Boudin helped establish the practice of painting outdoors, capturing the fleeting beauty of changing weather and everyday life along the coast.
