Sonia Delaunay (1885–1979) was a French-Ukrainian artist, designer, and one of the pioneers of abstract art. Together with her husband, Robert Delaunay, she developed the movement known as Orphism, characterized by vibrant colors and dynamic geometric forms. Her work extended beyond painting to include fashion, textiles, stage design, and decorative arts, reflecting her belief that art should be integrated into everyday life. Sonia Delaunay became one of the most influential figures of modern art and was the first living female artist to be honored with a retrospective exhibition at the Louvre Museum in 1964.
